During the Forum Invest in Senegal 2025, held in Dakar on October 7–8, IFC partnered with the National Agricultural Insurance Company of Senegal (CNAAS) to advance inclusive and climate-resilient insurance solutions in the country. From September 3–5, 2025, IFC, in partnership with ACRE Africa, delivered training on index insurance to Land Bank Insurance Company (LBIC) in Johannesburg. The training focused on strengthening technical capacity in product design, underwriting, monitoring, and claims processes for index-based agricultural insurance, with a special emphasis on solutions for both crop and livestock farmers. The training follows the launch of LBIC’s new Area-Yield Index Insurance, aimed at addressing climatic risks such as droughts and floods. How can financial tools better support women farmers in India? This question is at the center of a newly launched effort to bring inclusive insurance solutions to rural communities. In June 2025, IFC’s Women’s Insurance Program launched a new advisory engagement with Credit Access Life Insurance Ltd (CALI), sister company of Credit Access Grameen (an IFC NBFI client), to develop bespoke solutions and expand insurance coverage to women farmers in India.
